Forestry Mulching

Additional Information

Forestry Mulching is a land clearing method that uses machinery to cut, grind, and clear vegetation in place. This is a proven method for clearing lots for building, creating paths through wooded areas, clearing vegetation near farm fields & establishing deer plots, or shooting lanes for hunting lands. In addition, forestry mulching is often used for land clearing, right-of-way, pipeline/power line, and wildfire prevention and forestry management, vegetation management, invasive species control, as well as wildlife restoration. We use special underbrush forestry-mulching equipment to provide fast, efficient, and eco-friendly land clearing.

Groundworx Land Management clears your land and improves your soil with our forestry mulching services. Forestry mulching is a single step process where undesirable vegetation, trees, brush, and stumps is cut and ground into mulch in place. The mulch is spread as evenly as possible over the entire cutting area to retard initial re-growth, prevent erosion, and replenish the topsoil base.

Unlike other clearing methods, forestry mulching leaves no brush piles, and there is no burning or scarred land. Damage to healthy trees is greatly reduced because forestry mulching protects the vital topsoil layer and delicate feeder roots. Permitting and/or additional erosion control is almost never required. The landowner is left with a fresh carpet of mulch, which naturally decomposes into rich topsoil. Our land clearing methods allows our forestry mulching to be done in weather that shuts down other technologies. Most importantly, mulching is faster and cheaper than traditional land clearing methods.

Forestry Mulching Benefits:

  • Layer of mulch suppresses weeds and stabilizes soil from erosion
  • Less expensive than traditional land clearing and doesn’t damage the roots of trees
  • Instant results and typically burnable in four months

Typical Applications:

  • Mow recreational use trails
  • Create brush and composting piles
  • Maintain parks & golf courses
  • Assist in storm clean up
  • Create deer lanes and wildlife pathways
  • Clear and maintain your land
  • With forestry/logging projects
  • Create fire breaks to decrease wildfire risk
